Well, this is my first digital work of art, and i suppose my first step into digital. I do have experience in Photoshop, but i've never done an actual painting. Its about time I put this Wacom to use. It took about 3hrs. I became motivated after watching Carlos Cabrera's Vampire tutorial located here http://www.carloscabrera.com.ar/tutorials/
Watching that made digital painting look so easy.

Bit hard to discern what is what at the moment. When I firsted looked at it I thought it was a huge ship about to crashi into the surface of a planet (as I assumed the one behind it already did), and I thought "there's no chasing here at all!". But looking at it again I see that's a wall now (figured out those were bridges).

I think one reason for the confusion is everything is very much pointing to the lower right, that area seems to have a lot of gravity. Also the explosion. Usually things hit going in a straight line (for most practicle considerations), so I see the explosion and I think something flew straight into it, which means the area directly across from the explosion would have to be empty (like a sky which I assumed the ships were falling out of). But the bridges imply that there is a wall across the chasm, so that's a bit confusing.
The right wing of the front vehicle is pointing out perhaps too straight too, I didn't really associate it with being the opposite wing at first.
The persuing vehicle initially struck me as a big piece of shrapnel from the explosion (I really couldn't figure it out at first, even being big shrapnel didn't make much sense, so I mainly ignored it).

Right now the two main focal points are the foreground object and explosion. That should definitely be changed to the foreground and background/persuing vehicle. So even though the persuing vehicle is further behind, don't skimp on its details.
For the foreground vehicle, I might consider brightening up its front to effectively compete with the explosion. I couldn't really make out the front of the vehicle until I followed the line of the cockpit shell.

Thank you kindly, now that you mention it it really does look like an alien planet. Only one person i showed could tell what it is. I'll, take all that into consideration.

I love the sense of motion you achieved there. I agree with Timon's points though. =]
