Hiya!

If this thread is in the wrong place, please put it in the right one.

I’m looking for some free modeling help. Yes, this is a very flame-able thread. :insane:I have this WW2 soldier (2D, done in PS) that I really would like to have in 3D. As you can se from the attachment it’s a very simple little character, but I have never worked with 3D modeling software before so I have no clue how to do this. So I was wonder if someone can spare a minute or two and maybe help me.

Regards,
Fuzzy

well this would be very easy to do in any app. probably start with primatives and deform as needed. i would however suggest first reading the manual for your app, and then doing some tutorials as needed. this is really a basic character, so it shouldn't take long to build.

good luck

I’m sure this is very easy for anyone who has worked with any 3D modeling app. How every this will be my first time so I’ll be great full for any links to tutorials that might help my getting this little guy into 3D form. :bounce:

PS. I'll be working in 3ds max

First you should choose the Soft you`re gonna use, if you don't have one yet you should download maybe the demo version of any of them an take a look in the right forum ( ie. MAYA, LIGHTWAVE, MAX...etc...etc.. ), if this is a hobby and you're not gonna get any money in the 3d field you should go for LIGHTWAVE it's the one that it's less expensive by far.
After that, well, it's not a matter of, I want to model this ( if you don't even have a basic Idea about modeling in 3d ), you should check some tuts with some basic modeling and then go for your little guy.
( if you post the application you choose maybe I could send you the proper tutorial for that kind of modeling ).
Hope it helped.
