View Full Version : Doc Martens
PlebianX 01-25-2003, 01:47 PM Hey! This is my first post here at cgtalk, though I've put some replies in the challange section. I've been trying to think of something to make that doesn't fill the 3d cliché of chicks guns cars and/or space. ;) So I'm making a model of my Doc's, and I'm hoping for some crit's on 'em. I know the back needs to be a bit more rounded, but I've already fixed that, I'm just too lazy to make new renders. Anyway here it is!

A quick ugly update with the scanline renderer. :)
I'm going to work in more wrinkles in the leather when I have the boot completed.

Hey! Thanks for the nice comments. :)
I basically use box modelling, but I start with a patch instead(3ds Max). I just pull polys along the contours then fill in inbetween till I've built up the shape I want. Or a shape RESEMBLING what I want, as I'm still not all that good at it. ;)

Well, A very SLIGHT update, Started on the other side of the boot, this is mostly just a nicer render. :D

Another update, I'm just working away! Sorry about the horrible aliasing... Forgot to up it before render...
 Why so few comments? Come on and humour me! Some one must like my booty! ;) Crits are taken with a smile!

It nears completion! Now I've pretty much got all the rough bits worked out. Some bit have triangles that need to be found and destroyed, but otherwise it's on to fancy bits like eyelets and shoelaces. :)
