View Full Version : problem: Bones stretch after linking

Hi
I rigged a hand in max.
I made an editable poly for the palm. Reassigned the pivot to the base of the Epoly.
Attached some bones to it to be fingers.
The problem is, that when I rotate the base of the fingers, the bones start to distort and stretch.
Why is that ?

Sounds like the bones parent hs been scaled. Apply an resetXfrom on it and try again.

I made Reset XForm, true, there was a major twist there.
Still, I removed the poly bone, assigned a newly created object, and the problem persists.
The bones rotate with a big scale.
It seems like there is something to do with the location of the Palm's pivot ?

to fix this problem load up the bone tools from the character menu, then under object properties make sure stretch is set to none and auto align is off. make sure you hit reset stretch and scale as well... this should fix your issue.
