I believe Peranders (or was it Kai?) posted some good cross-package feature conversion lists a while back--and cant seem to find it (lights and shadow equivalents--material channel equivalents).

I am working in a studio where there are mostly Max and Maya guys, and am running into some walls when trying to advise them how to achieve a look that matches what I might have done in c4d. Right now the issues are unerstanding what the equivalents of the luminance channel and the diffusion channel are in max--but there are other issues that crop up from time to time.

If anyone has experience working between Max & Maya and c4d--if you could offer any advice or things I might need to know about while working with artists using these packages--that would be very helpful.
Thanks

definitley wasn't me, unless it was rigging specific maybe in temrs of maya.

my best advice is find some simple tutorials for those programs, they may be too simple for you to really do, but they shoudl cover a lot of the tools etc. that seem harder to translate than they should be.

Thanks Kai--wasnt sure exactly who it was--I suppose it wasnt you.
Yes--I realize now that I need to have at least a rudimentary understanding of the max/maya workflow.

alias used to have some decent crossover pdfs - that would map the similar commands from maya to c4d, maya to max, maya to xsi, etc (and map commands back)

was helpful to look at when understanding the other apps workflow and process - but i'll be darned if i can find them anymore since autodesk has absorbed the alias site...

these might be of use to you if you can find them - i'll keep looking too...

@glidattack

THANKS!
I hadnt actually seen that one before--but it will be even more helpful than the thing I was thinking of.
Someone here had a thread where they manually went through the different ligthing&material settings across several different packages--including maya max and c4d.
