View Full Version : Female Character (WIP) Nudity
AmbientLight 01-25-2003, 09:39 AM Hi all. I'd like to get some feedback on the anatomy of the character I'm working on; what looks right and what looks wrong, what needs to be fixed.
Oh, it doesn't have the head tho'. I'm very unhappy with it, so I don't post it at all :)
My previous attempt to post here led to one reply only :( I do realize I'm not Stahlberg or Syomka but I'd really love to know what people think. Thanks a lot.

The chest area is working well. The hips are a bit too long maybe waist too high. The iside of the legs look a little boxy ( could be lighting). Great start though. Good real proportions normal person not superhero.

Did you use a poser model as a reference while modeling this? There's something very poser'ish in the dimensions and certain features.

real good job, man!
the hands seem a bit small and the fingers seem a bit too thick. besides that. PERFECT!!

Someone belive this looks like a poser model... that must be the greatest comment you can get. Yeha It looks nice alright.
You should put a new level of details in your texture maps and not so much more in the modeling, I think.
Area that looks a bit odd too me is the groin (thinks it is the name for it in english... below the navel). Hips are at good hight.

Poserish??!?! Well, I don't know whether it's compliment or insult :)
I will take a look at the groin area. I didn't do a good job on it that's for sure. And yes, as now I can see, fingers are too fat :)
I actually purposely put more detail while modeling. 6500 polygons right now, so it's not that bad I guess. If extradetail will be too hard to animate I will reduce it and rely more on textures. Hey, I'm still learning :)
Thanks a lot guys

On a real anatomy level:
the legs are extremely long. the torso very short. the arms are too short (I estiamte they'd fall about lower hip?- oughta be mid or upper thigh), fingers look a little short and "squat" for a woman's hands, but that may just be the way you want them.
From a verisimilitude angle: only the short arms would bug me, everythig else is sorta the usual exaggerated female anatomy, but not too exaggerated.
the proportions you have in isolation are quite pleasing and well-done- the legs by themselves look great, as do the arms. Also nice surfacing and anatomical reference to the structures below the skin. if you're going for "real," protrude the hip bones a little bit, that'd put it over the top.

Thanks for comments. I'm going to get rid of exaggeration to make the body look more believable, which is my goal. As long as it looks believable I'm happy for now. I don't have much experience to re-create realistic figure right now. But I'm working on it :)
Oh, the hand. I actually used my own hand as the reference :) I guess it is wrong, because I'm not female hehe.
