I've worked with Softimage Xsi and Filmbox for a recent real time character project.

Only one critic...exporting from xsi don't work very well:

-i can't export aNIMATION
-I CAN'T EXPORT shapes!!!

Now i don't want that fbx plug in are able to convert all xsi features but animation and shapes are very important, so please there's a plan of a new and more complete xsi plu in?

I hope so cause this year my company will buy a vicon8i system and some filmbox and softimage xsi license.

A new version of the FBX plug-in for XSI is coming very very soon and should fix a lot of the issues of XSI support with MOTIONBUILDER ...

So finally we are able to use productively xsi with filmbox.
