Hi,

I've been trying to add a -second- slave renderpc into my network but I get the following errors:

MSG 0.0 info : adding new host 5 (burn05:7103)
MSG 0.0 error 011217: master/slave may not be used together
MSG 0.0 error 011706: cannot add host burn05:7103
MSG 0.0 info : adding new host 5 (burn06:7103)
MSG 0.0 error 011217: master/slave may not be used together
MSG 0.0 error 011706: cannot add host burn06:7103

If I use just one of them (burn05 or burn06) it works perfectly. I've been searching on both errors but cannot seem to find usefull info.
No firewall inbetweens or alike messing things up. Very fast network between master/slaves. Running Maya Advanced btw, so I should have 8 clients available.

Anyone has a clue on this......

those sats have maya installed, or just sat?

Both pc's have Maya -AND- satellites installed. Is that the problem???

seen a lot error messages but not that one :)

which maya version you use?
because latest 7.01 metal uses port 7104 and 8.0 even 7105. so maybe you should also update.

anyway just to be sure: you render from your one local master machine right?

it looks like the following to me:
your slave machines think they are masters as well.
do they have a maya license installed as well?
do they have rayhost files with other machines listed?

only your render master machine does need the rayhosts file. no other one.

Still using 6.5 over here.... I know, i know.....
Yeah, I'm rendering from the master pc, "driving" the slaves.....
Will check for rayhost files and licenses on the slaves.... would be weird but I didn't set up the network here, and the one who did is no longer here... So I can't ask him.
