With school starting, it's going to be a challenge, but hey, that's what this is supposed to be.

I used a rusted x-acto knife from the depths of my closet for this one. It holds some merit being the first, considering the permanent scar on my thumb from an encounter about 2 years ago.

Looks pretty good so far. Some small advice on the polycount.
Your model needs some more divisions on the radius.
The end doesn't look nice with that few polys and on the dome tip you can really tell the lack of polys.

Good job on the knife, especially the texture work on the grips. Not sure if you were going for a low-poly or hi-poly model. If it was low-poly (for a game, perhaps), then it does the trick. However, if it was supposed to be a smooth model, the polygons are very visible in the front view. As prayas mentioned, some additional radial sub-divisions would help this.

Thanks prayas and Imagus, I'm not sure whether I was going for low-poly or high-poly myself, so I'll put more thought into that next time :P

Do you know if you can rework these after you submit them? I'd imagine not. Thank you again for the comments, same to ZaneV.

I'm pretty sure you're allowed to rework your models right up until the 30 days are up. I could be mistaken though....

You can rework your models all the way to the end of the mini challenge..

This Luger was definitly a learning experience. I realize there are some errors in the geometry... if I have time I'll go back and correct that. I just feel like I've spent too much time on one thing for this contest. My major mistake being that I've never seen a luger in real life, and I'm not really intelligable on the structure of a gun. :shrug: oh well, at least I tried.

Fork is such a weird word. You don't really realize that until you've written it out a couple times.
