Damn sweet, i'm getting this baby now! All i can say is that the future is looking great for rhino lovers and for those newcomers.

it looks really nice but i'm afraid too expensive for my rhino use. I have got to say Mcneel are going to have to look at its pricing policy especially in Europe if they are going to make any headway with Rhino 4.
You have got a lot of products which have both had their prices slashed and features greatly enhanced Modo, XSI and LW9 for example which i'm afraid leave Rhino looking a poor choice financially and usability. Rhino is still shipping without a usable renderer for crying out loud (and i'm sure that is going to be the same for v4)
For example i recently (and reluctantly !!) moved over to XSI 5. The commercial licence cost me £300 with includes a next gen polymodeller, Mental ray with UV mapping plus toon rendering and full animation including cloth dynamics. To buy the Rhino alone is about £600 with no renderer or animation ??? hmmmmmmm
To buy rhino and v-ray you are talking best part of a £1000, come on Mcneel your going to have to do better than that.
Sorry please forgive my rant its been a long day LOL

In general i will agree that for a casual hobbist the prices are wacked, for a student the prices are near rock bottom (rhino anyway)...working in a design studio it's just a matter of required need versus the pay off in results where price is factored in over an extended period.:)Rhino has it's niche and is quite firmly entrenched for product design and other related stuff.
~sure is nice to have choices.
vray demo-hmmm really flokked interface..needs some major tweaking or at least better integratin' with rhino...i consider this a beta as far as the layout into rhino is concerned.
..the renderer flies fine but christ on a corn cob who thought out the material panels.!!

I have offical license on Vray for rhino myself, Frankly, I think Price is too silly. (Lucky, I didn't pay it out of my pocket, my company did) However, VRay is pretty good, it renders photorealstic alike real fast, but draw back is.... The material settings (I dislike material panel, too confused). I would rate it 60%. I hear Brazil and Final Render is going to bundle up with Rhino 4 coming soon. Perhaps, this would be much cheaper than VRay, let's wait and see.

Im just wondering if any one else has the problem - where you apply vray or brazil materials then switch renderer back to flamingo then previously loaded ones are reset to default.

@Spincad.... For VRay case, I know material will be saved along with project you are working on in rhino. Once you return your work you saved, the material will still be there... If you work on new project VRay mats would always reset to default... That applies to most 3d programs anyway..... Otherhand you can always save VRay material in .rhp format. To do this.... first select mats you want to save, then right mouse click on blue orb in material editor list and select export material from drop down menu... To retrive it, do same but select import material. Hope that answer your question.

I guess this means I gotta decide on a renderer before rendering. Just something i noticed when trying out renderer demos. Thanks.
