View Full Version : Cut Faces Tool
poserpro 01-25-2003, 04:13 AM Maya 4.5 introduces Cut FacesTool, but it cut straight line, can we cut the faces in fre-style spline mode, meaning not stright, but like using pen to draw-cut, as we don't always have to cut in straight fashtion, but rather cutting to conform to the shape of the geometry to be cut.
Any Cutter idea.
thx.

that's the old stuff, I need to using Cut like drawing, not connecting poly by poly.
Isn't that what Cut Faces Tool for ? 3ds max also got this feature in R3 or R4.

thanks Olivier
Will try find it.
What I wish icut faces tool to be s like what we do for 3D Painting, when you paint on obj, you draw on the surface of the target object, so I like the Cutter to be like 3D Painting when I cut the faces, I cut like flowing and painting on the surface, not just a straight cu tlike raser. Imagine you hold a knife and sculpture on a apple to cut a text or shape, so it is not a straight cut, hope i habe been clear on this.
thanks.
