View Full Version : TP: stick to poly controlled with textures?

Hi,

I'm trying to make a beach front sanddune scene with TP sprites for the spinifex grass.

I was wondering if theres anyway to use a texture to control the placement of particles on polys?
eg in pic below only the white has grass

the simple way I've tried is just restriction tags but they are too unnatural

also seeing as there are thousands of particles it takes 5mins or so to process them is there a way to bake them into objects?

ps are there any impressive TP movies to check out?

I am TP illiterate Mike,but where your polys have sharp un natural edges which you use for the tag selection,just grab your magnet tool and run around the edge and do some shaping on them,move corners in a bit and try that,like you would shaping a face :)
