Title: Junkyard Headquarter
Name: Tobias Witek
Country: Germany
Software: Photoshop

hey,

this piece was inspired by "The three investigators", a collection of youth books originally coming from the us. Later it was continued in german under the name "Die drei Fragezeichen ???" and became one of the most succesful series of audio books ever. the headquarter of the three boys is on an old junkyard and was never illustrated by the publishing company, so every reader/hearer has its its own idea of the place. this has always been mine and a week ago i decided to finally paint it. i hope you like it and everybody who never heard of them should pick an audiobook. it keeps you very well entertained sitting in front of your screen while painting.

cheers,
tobi

This reminds me of my childhood, reading the Hardy Boys mysteries. Thanks for the memories. Good work.

Beautiful and excellent interpretation of the theme. Love all those details and the warm light in the cool color palette. Yes, I remember the 3 Fragezeichen. :) Und ich gebe zu - manchmal höre ich sie heute noch. :) Britta *****

thanks guys! i'm so glad you like it and may have got a feeling of the atmosphere of the series.
@BGHart: thank you. i listen to them nearly every night to doze off and sometimes while painting. the target group is ageless imo ...

Very nice Tobi. The details and atmosphere are amazing!

Something bugs me about the perspective though. The trailer doesn't seem correct to me.

I guess you are very happy about 'die Dr3i'. :scream:

Dude, this is awesome love the feel of the piece.

I used to read the three investigators books almost 20 years ago and when I saw this piece it was exactly what I thought of even before reading the description. Will have to try and find some of them on audio. Thanks for taking me back to my childhood.
