In my family, my brother, Jeffrey Eugenides, is the famous one. In 2003, his novel Middlesex won the Pulitzer prize. I am just now finally reading the novel myself. It's quite a book.
Anyway, there is one particular scene in there that struck a chord with me. Actually there are many, but this one prompted an image in my mind that I wanted to work with. This image is the result. It is not an exact representation of the scene in the book, but it is inspired by it. A little girl and her grandfather are standing together, looking out the window. In the book, Jeff says they are "together at the opposite ends of life." This image springs off of that.

Figures are Daz Michael and Victoria, posed in Poser. Griffin mat on the male, Lillith on the girl. Diva hair on the girl. Both figures were considerably tweaked to get their look right. The clothes are from the standard Poser content. I also used a wall prop from Ratracer (which I retextured), a rosevine prop from LB, and one of the DNA heavy vine props. All this stuff was imported into VUE Infinite, and the lighting, layout, foliage, and rendering were done there. Additional details and cleanup were done in Photoshop. Various brushes from Designfera and Spiritsigh, as well as other regular brushes, were used.
