Hi,

When first rendered the lighting in the image looks perfect in the render view but when go "save image" in any format the image always appears darker than in the render view, why is that?

What program are you using to view the saved images? Do they still look darker when you load them back into the renderView window (using the "file|open image..." menu)?

Could it be a color management issue?

Hi,

If you are opening the file with something like Photoshop, Photoshop would normally apply a colour profile to your image, which, depending on how it is set, would sometimes cause the image to show up as much darker than it was originally intended.

This would most probably be a colour management issue. What you should do is to go into Photoshop, and re-adjust the gamma in there until it looks similar to the Maya Renderview image.

hi, thanks so much for the replies. Yeah it is photoshop I'm using and your right lamster; it is the color profile and tweaked that and it's all good now :) thanks again.
