Nice work on the modeling, and the texture looks really realistic (based off my roomy's experience in the Marines, the M-16 is flat and clean in color...)!
Good stuff, keep at it!

Is the checker on the grips a texture, modelled or a displacement? I can't tell.
Oh, sweet picture and model!

Really nice modeling there, looks awesome. You nailed the main bodie's shader. My only crit is the texture in the buttstock and the handguard. The hand guard doesn't really look like plastic. And the plastic on the buttstock doesn't have that rough texture, it's smooth.
Still, frikin' awesome job.

Thanks for all your comments guys. I'm glad to hear that you like it.
locke2121 - the "grippy" part of the grip is using a displacement map as is the text on the lower receiver.

Fantastic! Some of the best shading I've seen in awhile.
