from the article:

"....The five-minute video preamble will prepare guests for their entry into the main theater, which features specially designed seats and sensory elements that help propel the narrative experience. In addition to the "OgreVision" glasses the audience must wear to get the full effect of the 3D animation, the theater's seats are capable of both vertical and horizontal motion, and are equipped with tactile transducers, pneumatic air propulsion and water spray nodules. The 15 minutes of all-new 3D animation, created by PDI, bridges the narrative between SHREK and the upcoming sequel from DreamWorks Pictures, SHREK 2, which is due in theaters summer 2004. David Lipman, who served as co-executive producer for SHREK, and is producing SHREK 2, also produced the theme park attraction. "

yay, another movie based theme park 3D glasses movie.....woohoo.

ooooo and it squirts water at you and the seats move....thats original........................

i thought these things died out in the 90's with Michael Jackson's Captain EO (anyone else remember that 3D glasses abomination??????)

When is someone gonna make an original ride......like a VR Rollercoaster???? And im not talking about something where you sit and the thing tilts, i mean a really rollercoaster that is totally enclosed..and showing a movie ( like those silly tilter rides) but have it based on the way the coaster moves!!!! That way if you are watching a movie where you are flying you would REALLY feel it.....not just be tilted to make it seem like it.

I would ride it!!!

I think you're waaaaay over-simplifying here. Captain Eo was very different from the 3D Muppets show down in Disney World.

To use your own assessment here, why are they making a second Shrek movie when it's all been done before with Toy Story?

Seriously, the content here makes a huge difference. It's not a fad, it's the medium they chose to entertain the audience with it. So take it easy, okay? You haven't experienced it yet.

Yeah Gentle, quit being a Negative Nancy. Party pooper.

tactile transducers

That seems a bit different. Does that mean we'll be able to feel Shrek's slimy hide? Sounds very interesting, I better plan a trip down to FL.

Down in Orlando at DisneyQuest, a big ol' arcade, you can design your own rollercoaster, and then you ride it. It's pretty much like you were describing.

no, thats not what i mean.....and i said, not a tilter.......i mean an actual rollercoaster......120" high steel girter type thing....with a movie that goes with the rollercoaster action....not the movement based on a fake roller coster.....and i have done the thing at disney quest and it sucked! it just rolls around, so it doesnt feel anything like the real thing.

and im not being negative by saying that im tried of the same re-hashed ideas for rides!!

I just wish someone would come up with an original concept for once!

original is such a misleading term

you could make a rollercoaster and have people put on glasses playing a 3d movie

imagine the heart attacks?

then it would just be a rollorcoaster that has glasses

that sounds cool, I like those un-original tilters myself

Ahh, got it. The VR thing threw me off. Yes, what you said would be really cool. (I also didn't like the disney quest thing, but it sounded like that's what you were talking about)
