It looks liek Autodesk has killed the Graduating Student license upgrade. With Alias, you could puchase Maya at a very reasonable discount and then when you graduated or wanted to pursue commercial work they offered an upgrade that bumped you to a commercial license (and the most current version of the software). For Maya Complete, the upgrade was $800-900 so you ended up with a very nice discount for a commercial version. The same is true of Unlimited as the upgrade was $3k.

Yet another reason to loathe Autodesk...
