Sweet mother of holy crap, you've been busy... Stop it, makes me feel lazy (which I am) and unskilled (which I'm also ;))

dd,

You have given me a little lift in my day w/these pics even after your helping b4 w/my lighting issues. :bounce:

That interior shot w/the aquarium is, and I'm not throwing this word out there arbitrarily, it’s absolutely breathtaking, seriously. The soft light from outside, the water in the aquarium, the wood floor, the LC3 chairs, everything is quite photo real and is very pleasing to the eye.

The pool shots are a great testimony to C4D’s abilities also. The saying that “it’s the artist and not the tool” is once again proven to be true.

Now I’m going to go back to banging my head against the wall in between test renders of my interior scene

Great work, thx for sharing,

Paul

Awesome images thanks for sharing them.

You have mastered Cinema's Render.

Did you model everything. The toy car is great.

i love the renderings.....i am just now getting into rendering settings and stuff so is it possible to give a quick run down of settings, pointers effects? i finally got a second computer so i plan to make one just for rendering stuff

kraal in answer to your question about whether or not i can give you a run down of the settings, i cant cause each scene is different.
if you look on the rendering gi thread some way down on this forum i tried to help a guy there giving him some simple settings that i use
Getting spanked w/C4D's GI: Help plz... 2 of 2 ( 1 2 )

hope this helps

Very nice images - I think the pool shots are just outstanding - render quality is the same level as with LW,Maya&MAX - Cinema Rockz!! Great realism!

IMHO if you spend enough time and care setting the rendering up in any package you should get the same results and feel to your renderings
i know that some renderers offer more like sss and hdr and stuff but if you tweak you materials lights etc you should be able to get the same effect

my 2 cents
cinemas renderer has been my fav for toooooo long now
i still mess with the others just so i keep fresh and upto date with them but u cant take my cinema away from me

Excellent work _dd
The only crit I can give any of the images, is that the wall texture behind the shed in the first image looks very flat.

yeah i added a high mesh and added a displacement map to it aswell as a bump but it still looks pooo
but i like the over all feel to the pic so no more time wasted on it

hey _dd,

Love the images, but as an architect, I am actually wondering what those 3 columns are doing in your pool? Taking a dip? There's really no structural need for those.

(goes to show: if that's the only comment I can come up with, what does that say about the renders? That they are great of course :-)!!!

Cheers,
BaRa

As an architecture student :p i think those columns are only a decoration (i personally don't like em but it's simply a matter of taste), i don't think they're even part of the structure

as a non archectural student (never have been) i can confirm that the 3 cylinders are just that
they dont hold up anything, they aint structural atall
infact why did they end up in this pic

oh i rem they are for show as are the large windows, which basically make up the whole roof
i wouldnt trust any of the rooms i render.

thanks for spotting this error guys :)
btw if they where not there where would i place the lights and the speakers
they do have reason for life

more to follow.

/me wonders off cursing architectural students, while shaking head

Hi all, I'm new to cgtalk. Where is best for me to start?

davedavidson
05-17-2005, 04:32 PM
best place to start at cgtalk is not on an old thread like this :)
1, make some work
2, upload work
3, post to cgtalk
4, wait
:)
or
1, ask question on cgtalk
2, wait

man this thread is old
