Hey, it's a good start :) A few pointers...
When he goes down to pick up the box, try to give more anticipation to the action. At present he just sorta goes for it and it would probably benefit to have a bit more of a build up.
Also, it looks like he has an easier time lifting it at the beginning of the lift, then after the mid part where it looks a bit more of an effort. I'm guessing it's quite a heavy box from that second part so on the first part when he pulls back, really try to make it look heavier, hold some poses, try and show the weight a bit more.
Another thing to watch out on is that left arm, it looks like it goes throught the box a little bit when he brings the box onto his chest. Be wary of that or it'll sell the action less.
Keep at it and good luck!

Not too a shabby a start Alive!
Just as Neil said, I do think that you need to think about the weight of the box a bit more. I really liked the second part of your animation when the character actually has the box in his hands-- but he picks it up with relative ease. Even if you were dealing with a light box, you'd have to throw in some sort of anticipation in there to make that action of lifting a bit more readable. Right now the lifting motion is too smooth and continuous.
Also try to act it out. It'll give you a better understanding of the motion. For example, I notice that you have the feet rotating (while planted on the ground) during the lift. Try lifting a box and see if you can mimic that action... it's a bit tough to do!
Again-- good overall start!
Hope this helps.
