I've downloaded the evaluation version of Rhino and am going through the tutorials. The online help is pretty sparse (compared to Maya). It appears that when you buy the program it comes with two training manuals. How are they and does it come with any printed manuals? I don't want to spend a whole bunch of money on extra training materials.

Thanks

Hi!

Yes it comes with two training manuals. But you will hardly have any use of them.
Rhino is very easy to learn, and the "help" (F1) function will cover all (almost) functions
there is. As for learning basic workflowes ect. the web holds a number of good tutorials
(see link on this very board for example) and examples, although not on rhino3d.com.

Buy Rhino, work yourself trough some basic tuts, start looking into diffrent functions,
and feel free to ask us here at CGTalk, whenever you encounter any problems. Im
positive, you will find Rhino a good, easy to use product =)

Rhino is a dead easy program to pick up, there is a fair bit of material out there but nothing that would compare to Maya. But if you stuck you always have us :)

Thanks guys. That was an easy sell. I found a good price and decided to go for it. Hopefully I won't be back with too many questions.

Hopefully you will :) The more the merrier! And besides the forum is just for Q&A, as long as it involves rhino; a discussion on the desexing process of a chinese panda would be quite fine. Could be a challenge to work rhino into that... but I'm up for it

I don't know about desexed pandas, but the user guide that came in the box is exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for an explanation of the interface, shortcuts, etc. I'm suprised they didn't include a pdf of the guide in the evaluation copy.
