malc0lm 01-24-2003, 05:03 PM Hi, I need to learn how to make a cloth shader like these ones:
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20722&perpage=15&pagenumber=4
(Thirdeye's and ppls')
I've been trying all day long and I can't get the bump right... Looks like a checkerboard or something gone horribly wrong. Please help me obi-wan, err...

Hm Malcolm,
Could you post some of your results? Might make it easier to try putting you on the right track. In any case, my guess is ThirdEye used a bitmap. Although it certainly can be done with procedurals... with a lot of tweaking (we are talking about the tablecloth, aren't we?).
Cheers,

you need to be in best aa mode, and increase the settings a bit to get rid of that moire pattern for a start.
