View Full Version : searching for a paper - shader (that works with mental ray FinalGather)

hey everyone,

I have been searching on google for a while but didn't find a paper-shader that's good to use on a simple plane. First I used a lambert and just crancked up the translucency value...
(as in this video: http://fasen.simba.be/joene/3d/onfi...ocument_PAL.avi )
...but that only worked with spotlights,directional lights,.. not with finalGather light (I changed the background color of the camera).

Then I tried the SSS-shader, but I think that won't work on a single plane (=the sheet of paper), it'll only work on an objects with a front and back surface...

So now I'm out of ideas, anyone here that could help me out with this one?
