Is there someway to turn/flip the edge inside a quadroganol polygon?

called "flip triangle edge" but it only applies to triangels i think...its under the edit polygon menu

I speciffically want to do it on a polygonwith four vertices. You can do it in max, but I can't find a way to do it in Maya.
It's almost as if it doesn't treat edges inside a polygon (that is an edge that isn't shown as a line when you're in edge manipulation mode) isn't available to you.

u need triangles for it to work in maya...so you would have to use the split edge tool...the reason why you can do it in max is because the mesh is already triangulated....

Then how does Maya handle polygons with more than three vertices?
I mean, if I create a square and move one (only one) of the vertices back or forward, thus making the polygon concave. Then what does Maya do?

well....:)....it doesnt triangulate them if thats what you mean. Maya works with quads natively...unlike max which uses tris. So if a face is non planer....it displays an edge in order to render it in the viewfinder....but the edge does not exist
So if you have the quads that you mentioned...which are non-planer....then use selection constraints to select the non planer faces and triangulate them....if you dont like how they are triangualated then use flip edges...if you have 4.5...try using the poly brush by using the "o" key
