Hi all, I just wanted to get some general feedback on my modeling reel, so I can see what works and what doesn't. I'm already starting the next one to further increase my chances of breaking in to the film industry.

Mostly, what I'm interested in involve modeling critiques as that's my major concern, however, I would appreciate advice on the other aspects of my work (lighting setups, animation, texturing, etc).

Lastly, I would prefer HONEST constructive criticism regardless of how positive or negative it may be. In terms of modeling, I received positive feedback from most companies (primarily film, game companies were more picky in terms of subject matter) at SIGGRAPH from that flatbook I had, but it never hurts in the long run to have more reviews.

Thanks!

my reel can be found at www.maje3d.com/downloads/maje3dreel.avi (http://www.maje3d.com/downloads/maje3dreel.avi) and stills are at www.maje3d.com/3dgallery.htm (http://www.maje3d.com/3dgallery.htm).

Hey man,
I think you'd have better luck posting this in a modeling forum and titling your post modeling reel. It doesnt really count as animation.
Good luck!

Actually I just did a search and all the reels I've seen are under the Finshed Animation section, including modeling reels.

On a side note, I've noticed something like 62 or views, hopefully some crits and feedback will follow! :) :bounce:

im still dlin the reel (and yea this is an ok place to post i guess.. all demo reels allowed), but i checked your website and i'll just comment on your stills. all look great! i specifically like the gundam! are you hard surface only? and how quick are you? a cool extra thing to throw on your reel i've found is "i modeled this in 8 hours" as you would note the poly count, etc.

*** dl finished haha.. so yea, all look awesome in the reel! i'd try and smooth the camera movements though, and try not to linger too much on the models. move quickly if you can, because of course employers are crazy impatient. and poly counts would be a plus  good job overall though!
