View Full Version : Unique UVs Texture Projections
belly80naz 01-24-2003, 01:28 PM What is the utility of the "Unique UVs Texture Projections" in XSI 3? I don't understand what is this texture projection. Maybe is it like the "UV mapping" in Lightwave or 3DS max but I don't think that it's the same thing because in XSI3 the "Unique UVs Texture Projections" subdivides the faces of an objects and texturing its in a "random mode" (I think).
If someone know how work this texture projections, please, give me an answer.

i've only played with xsi3.0 for a few hours one day but from what i remember i think unique uvs projection could work very sweet with the "match" tool in texture editor which finds points of the same coordinates, moves and merges them. perhaps you could really easily assemble a nice uv island like this? correct me ppl if i'm wrong. i know it's supposed to be something like automatic mapping in maya?...

RTFM
Unique uvs is an explicit uv set, either from freezing it yourself, or from a projection. It will make a projection for you to form a uvset if you select uv and have not got anything for it.
Are you thinking of the heal button?
