Ha, nice one!

I bookmarked the official site for Star Racers quite a while ago when and was very pleased when it was first picked up for distribution. French/Japanese co-productions have turned out fairly well before, I figured, being a big fan of Mysterious Cities of Gold. I had the pleasure of meeting Savin (the creator of Oban: Star Racers and namesake of Sav! the World Productions) at the London Expo a couple of months back. Jetix was showcasing some of their newly licensed titles and I was able to drag some friends to watch the first 3 episodes, months before Oban was officially due to be released. We also got a DVD with a ton of animation from the series, sans voice acting, which I thought was pretty sweet (not that the voice acting was bad). It's a lot of fun to watch some of the races over again - they're very well executed.

Interesting fact, Savin Yeatman-Eiffel is the great-great-grandson of Gustave Eiffel, whose eponymous tower you can see in the company's logo. Will update this with a sketch, I swear :D

Hey folks,

I first heard of Molly Star Racer in the DSG here and must say I was totally thrilled when I saw the trailer. Is this a new serial? or What?

Will it be aired in the US shortly? It looks gorgious and exciting!

It's been airing in the States since June, Mu, on Toon Disney and ABC Family ;)

Maybe i'm jsut being dense, but i see no connection between "Crime Scene" and that video :curious: Is it simply the Manga'ish style that we're supposed to use over the theme or.... :hmm:

LadyMedusa

I think it's just stuck from "Star Racer", or maybe the thread title was inspired by it yet again. Our sketch doesn't have to have any connection whit it.
Usually when Roberto whant's us to draw in a particular style or do something a particular way he explains it clarely, and usually puts two examples and puts something related to it in the title :)

Time:25 minutes spent searching for stuff, 15 arranging, 5 to take the picture and put it online
Media:Mixed/Photography
Well, the rules do say there aren't limits to media so for this one I decided to do something I don't think I've seen done before here and that would be photography. I've always wanted to do a photographic collage that tells a story, and in this is the story of a man who is a lover, a psychopath, a drug addict, a depressed, suicidal, shell of a person, and a murderer told through a picture taken at a crime scene. I'll leave it to you to put together the pieces of the puzzle, and yes some of the collage is cut off I did that on purpose. I'm sorry it isn't the best quality photo, I just used digital for time constraints instead of getting the old trusty manual film camera. Enjoy.

Yo, this is definitely a great place to work on your skills! This is my first week at the DSF, and I've tried to do it everyday. Having tried this, I now have an immense respect for everyone here. How you guys can paint to such a level with these time constraints is simply amazing! I'm learning loads just by watching.

What have I learned in this week? My speed-painting sucks; Maybe I should work on drawing more first..........

PS. 15min.

Hi guys this is my frist try at DailySketch
I Had fun, it was a push to get it finished in 40mins. but im happy with the image,
i wanted to make a atmospheric image with a sort of story behind it,
so this is what poped in to my head, the police finding the body in an abandoned yard in a run down part of the city.
its a bit of a sketchy picture but i guess thats the point :D
hope ya like it. all comments are very welcome.
good look, and great work buy eveyone so far.

12 mins painter trial charcoal and chalk for the red.

unfortunately quite a bit of grain was lost while resizing and it made the whole thing a bit more out of focus than it already was.

ok this one is fresh out of my head.
had one of them creative rush's.
this second image is much darker image than the last, both in nature and in look. I find it kinda disturbing myself. Im not the dark type. but its prob the mood im in at the moment been 2.56AM rendering on mAx , feeling a bit "moody" lol :)
Ok anyway, this is the fresh crime scene
make of it what you will, I just hope ya like it,

After 50 mins. Photoshop+tablet

My first idea when I read the thread title was very clear. But I decided to check people's entries before drawing it, and that was a good idea because CaveatScoti had done EXACTLY what I had in mind, only better...
So I looked for another idea...
