View Full Version : Cartooney dude project (advise needed)
Skyer 08-16-2006, 04:30 AM Ok, I was working on this character a while back when I all of a sudden I lost interest in finishing it. The reason? I wanted cartooney hair, but the solution I came up with takes time and I personally don't think it looks that good. here:

So, I need advice in how would you model cartooney hair? or if you think this isn't all that shabby, then tell me so maybe I can go ahead and finish it. :P

The smooth version looks clean, personally i would like a few more loops around the lips and the eyes. As for how it looks, it depends how close it is to the reference you have for it.
If incase there is no reference then perhaps some weight might be needed for the cheeks, and the nose might need some tweaking so that it does not look too straight. The lips might need some work, it also depends on you, at the moment they are not that prominent. Detail is needed for the loops.

Cool looking hair I don't know what you are going for soemtimes the simplest solution is best. Recently make a flatop took all of a couple minutes adn looked good. Wha tyou your going for? I think i tworks OK now.

I forgot to mention it is supposed to be crazy curly hair (like mine) (think roman emperor)
and as for the detail on the face, I will follow your advice on the mouth and the cheeks (as a matter of fact, thet were a bit chunkier until someone told me to make them like they are now, so it's just a matter of going back a few files hehe) and as of the nose... what's wrong with straight noses? mine is super straight... and long... I was trying to imitate my nose, but I think I do have to make it slightly wider
It's not neccessary that you follow what i said, that was my sugestion, thats what i said if its this way in the reference, then let it be this way, i gave my views on the assumption that you made this out of some concept. If it follows your reference as present, then no need to make the changes...good luck.

I guess I'll stick to what I already started and just finish it. the reason I'm doing such a simple character is because I will be experimenting with some new rigging concepts I've learned. So I'll prolly get it done some time next week, I'll post
