Phil,

Welcome aboard! :) It would be great if you could tell us something about your art background and training. A lot of these pieces look to be from the Daily Sketch Group or something similar, is that the case? :)

Cheers,

~Rebeccak

Hey Rebeccak. I am currently studying 3D animation in Australia but of late I have discovered I enjoy painting even more than animation. I don't have much formal training at all, I learnt everything reading tutorials online, looking at other people work and just doing it. I'm aspiring to be a concept artist when I graduate.

The pieces above were done for either uni, conceptart.org or personal work.

Some of the peaces i see here could really be pushed forward and become an amazing work. I like the one with the birdie in a black substance. Mutate! Mutate!!

Great to you here, Phil

Why so cruel on the poor soldier?

Speedpaints look good. Somehow I don't really like the colors, but I can't tell why. They are similar to each other. Be it blueish, greyish, yeallowish or any else. I'd like to see more variety of them. More saturation maybe too. Even if you're doing a b&w peace, black has many tones. But it might be JUST ME! Other than that, lovely work.
