Hey all,
i am quite new here, and also in maya (i have some old experiences but not that much).
i was doing some learning lately with modeling/animation and effects (particles..etc).
now i am in the rendering stage.
i was wondering what is the best way to render the complete animation (that includes the particles).

i did a rendering tests and saw that software rendering doesn't include the particles (effects) and hardware does.
what would be the best way to combine software/hardware rendering? do i have to render both and than combine them in 3rd party application? or is there a way in maya to render it all as a complete animation + effects.

thanks,
Shany.

hi,
the best way that i know to combine them ina 3rd paty software such as afterfx or fusion or what else. By this way you can get more options on your sequences...

cheers..

Render layers, work OK for a preview, works really well actually. But still a preview.

Render layers allow you to render out the soft/hard renders as seperate renders and then it can comp them for you.

So if your not ultra picky then you wont even need the other software.

Lots of info in the Docs.

Cheers

ok i get the idea.
i have here Adobe After Effects which i will use later to composite between the renderings.
i was wondering if you guys have a good tutorial to work with maya/after effects? when it comes to the best rendering.

thanks,
Shany.

well, i would like to know if there is a nice tutorial that shows how to combine the hardware/software rendering?.
in the attachment you can see the batch rendering result (using hardware rendering - which removes the materials and textures).
