Error: Cant Save Please Help!

did you import it in as a .ma file? if so, then just save it as .ma instead of .mb

NO Imported Flies..ONLY*.MB No *.MA....... just workd on my Project than maya crashed once whan i get an error i try to save the file than pressed OK on the Error after that maya disaper i opened maya again and try to load the flie Ok file opend i made some tweeks in my project and try to save again but with no luck...
im geting an error that says:

Error: File contains unknown nodes or data. To preserve this information, the current file type cannot be changed.

Hey there,

Yes I've had this problem in maya a lot. We primarily use .MA files and the most recent example of the problem occurred after importing some geo and then going to save.

Ba, up pops the cannot save window. Same thing happens if you try to export all.

The solution I've found most of the time is to change the format of the file as noted above. So if its an .MA file try saving as an .MB and vice versa.

9/10 that has worked for me. Also if you do get a file saved, quit and restart maya before reloading the file.
