Another animation along with some dialogue. That's the part that I spent most of my time on. The first little establishing shot and last shot were quickly tacked on because I wanted to see if they'd work at all. The bird is also just roughed in too.

I haven't been able to compress it well with a nice quality so everything looks pretty washy at the moment. And for some reason anything I upload to geocities that's over a megabyte or so won't play at all.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Hey man! I have seen alot of people try to animate this clip, and most of them look like crap. This looks really good! The lip sync looks just a tiny bit off, but not bad. The only things i would offer as advice would be: maybe add some squash and stretch to the bird... try to cheat the face that he is just parented geometry... and the long shots should be tighter and shorter. They are kind of distracting as is. i understand the last one has the bird flying away, but its hard to tell, and not really important. just truck in a bit and nip some of the time. good work!

gotta agree with ft -

the whole last bit after the actual dialog can go. You dont really need it.
The bird of course needs work - too choppy. I think his lip sync after the bird flies away could be tweaked a little more as wel. Other than that, this iis turning out to be a good piece :thumbsup:

Thanks a lot for the crits. Finally had some time to work more on it tonight. Fixed up a lot of shoulder movements, tried fixin up the lip sync and some expressions a bit, and worked on the bird some more. I tried tightening it up a bit, and maybe I'll cut out the last shot where the bird flies through the bars if that would work better. For now though, here's the dialogue part alone.

Not much of it looks very smooth to me yet. Kinda frustrating. And the bird is buggin me. heh. But let me know of any more suggestions!

Yep, the 2nd version is better.
Very good animation, lipsync and expressive face.

Want to see more ^^
