View Full Version : Emitter rate
Aikiman 08-13-2006, 06:32 AM Hi guys,
what mel can I use to use the Y translate of a locator determine the rate of emission on an emitter? In this case the closer the locator is to world zero the more emission should occur.
cheers :)

Hi Jeremy,
Select the locator.
You have 4 new attributes.
> Rate displays the current rate of the emitter:
> Max Height is the maximum translation value of the locator in Y:
> Base Rate is the actual rate that you want emitted when the locator is at 0:
> Min Height is the actual 0 axis. You can set this so that you are not limited to the 0 plane.
I have used vectors so that you can modify the script to use XYZ if you wanted not limiting it to just Y.
Translate the locator down to get a higher rate. Translate it up to decrease the rate.
Your welcome.
