View Full Version : Adding Thickness...

I need to create something emerging from an egg - egg is no problem :)
what I'm wondering is is what is the best approach to creating thickness in the shell where I need the hole... I've trimmed the surface but need to bevel and create thickness to the shell.
Any thoughts?

Select all the faces and extrude them.

ok, I just did this as an example..
I made a Poly sphere 20 x 20
Used Scale to make it Egg Shaped
Duplicated it...then scaled that Duplicate a tad smaller... so it was then INSIDE the original
then used the Boulean tool to Hollow Out the original Egg with the smaller Duplicated egg....
then I made a Poly Cube and shaped it like the hole I wanted...did this in a side view
then Bouleaned the shaped Cube from the Egg...to get the hole...with a shell with thickness
See the images
1st is from inside the egg...then one from, outside
