View Full Version : Ancient Centaur Ruins - WIP
Feyd-Rautha 08-12-2006, 04:55 AM The idea with this was to create a very clean, and simple image that still conveys alot of atmosphere. I'm specifically trying to avoid the image getting too busy.
Comments and critiques are very welcome! :)

Awesome, love the colors and the stepped saturation, kinda atmospheric. Compositionally it draws you in, but you have an unfortunate tangent where his belly is perfectly parellel with the ruin's support - that doesn't read well. You can really notice it if you squint eyes or zoom it out really far.
nonethless, she's coming along nicely. Keep at it, and lets see s'mor

I like this one already Feyd, beautiful colors and I think you're heading in the right direction w/atmosphere. Can't wait to see more :)

Thanks critiques and the complements! :)
Here's the latest version. I tilted the pillar directly behind the centaur so that it wasn't at the same angle as his belly. I added more highlights on the rubble, and brightened up some of the highlights to make certain elements pop a little more. I know there's quite a bit more I could do with lighting, but I'm trying to keep things as silhouettes which kind of limits what I can do.
