Hi,
I been working with maya for awhile now. I never had any problems untill last week. I made a scene and when I tried to render it, nothing happened. the app mayabatch.exe launches but doesn't do anything it just uses a lot of memory but no cpu activity.
It happens with maya 6.5 and 7.0.
I've tried everything, maya software batch (doesn't work), MR batch (doesn't work), I even tried to render a simple cube with the default render settings and didn't work either.
I have already reinstalled Maya but it didn't do me any good.
I have a Dell Ispiron 9400 Deluxe with the Nvidia 7800, 2 GB ram and a dual 1.8 Centrino processor.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please help me
Thanx

PS- The preview render works just fine, it's just the batch app

Many of us have had this problem when upgrading and having more than one copy of maya on your system. Uninstall all pervious copys of maya and reinstall you latest first.

I have exactly the same problem, I can't get Batch Render to work. I don't have any previous installations of Maya on my system. Is this a problem with Maya 7.0 only? The same thing happens here the Maya Batch Render app launches but only for a few seconds and then says that the render is complete but it doesn't do anything.

I have Apple Powerbook G4 with Mac OS X and plenty memory, first I thought it was just the platform but it seems this same problem is occurring in Windows too.

When I try to batch render a scene this error code comes up. If somebody could help me solve this code and this problem it would be wonderful.

mental ray: version 3.4.5.2, 06 July 2005

it happend again!
I installed maya for the 20th time, made a simple cube and click batch render and it worked!! I got the 10 frames I wanted and thought the problem was solved.
As I tried to render another scene, I didn't do anything else, I just loaded a scene (that I rendered last week on this pc without any problems) click render>batch render and mayabatch.exe launches but it doesn't do anything (no CPU activity). I thought that maybe it needed a couple of minutes to start so I left it to render overnight, but no luck.:scream:
I don't know what else to do!!
Please I need help, I don't even get a error message, I don't know what's wrong!!

do you have any antivirus software running? zone alarm? internet worm protection?

these types of programs can prevent batch from working.....if so you need to add
wrapper, maya.exe and render.exe from the maya dir to the exclusions list

Ok i had this same problem, i posted a topic above, and i have found a way to get around it, well it worked for me anyways, i tried everything.

So what i did was created a new Scene > then imported the scene i wanted to Batch Render into it. Be careful because your HDRI may not be in thee, may just have to select it and find it again, also some other files. But then i clicked Batch render, and its 45% on the 1st frame already. so yay.

hope this helps you guys.
