If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.

Us who are about to turn 30, just in time to take part in the evolution of computers and IT. A kind of "lit by computers" coloring with "the glory of the Pac" behind. Also tried to show off grunge, with the Cobainstyle hair..
About 20 mins, PSCS with Trust400 tablet. Just got new nibs too :)

Wow! Nice!

This is like getting a visual hit in the head. About 18 years ago, I did an oil piece, with a similar compositional structure, for an art class. The weather was too hot, on the day I had to varnish it, and it ruined the painting (which I may have finally pitched out last year). I had recently worked out the solutions for the problems I'd had, and was starting to look through my files for my old rough sketches when I saw this.

Photoshop; about 50 minutes.

Consists of several splatters of gray on the canvas, and everything else was shaped using the smudge tool. Disclaimer: I don't usually do 2D drawing/sketching (I'm more of a 3D/programming guy)... this is just a product of curing boredom.

"Hey, what in the hell does this have to do with Our Generation?"

...Well, other than the fact that my poor art style and technique and rude attitude can easily correlate and stand as a metaphor for the entirety of places like DeviantArt (oh, sick burn):

"Almost Out of the Woods"--somewhat symbolic towards the world shaking its shackles of habitual tradition in order to embrace the ever-changing future. It sounds self-righteous and overly speculative, I know. Kind of like how in the 60s people believed that there were going to be flying cars. I sure as hell don't see any; nevertheless, I do hold some hope that we are slowly letting go of our prejudices, embracing technology, listening to reason, the gray mundaneness of life, and generally making the world feel more interconnected... much like slowly making our way out of the dark, arborous labyrinth with only bits of light penetrating what little space there is between the leaves and trees.

Enough with the hippy stuff. The idea of having the whole forest-with-wandering-cloaked-dude came from just watching the Neverending Story (one of my favorite childhood movies). I could tell you that the stuff on the right could be symbolic of the future--a blinding light... but I won't lie--I just got tired and decided to go to bed and leave it unfinished. Anyway, I had fun doing this and maybe I will participate in more of these. 3D is usually my specialty, but I might just participate in more of these since these other sketches that I see are very inspiring.

Cheers
