Title: crossing the river styx (triumvirat)
Name: eric scala
Country: France
Software: Painter, Photoshop

About the image .First the background has been done before then I had the character.
That work is dedicate to Paul Gerrard and Joerg Warda that I met through CGSociety .
Another thing when I finished I realize it reminds me the "Dolce Vita " of Fellini with Anita Ekberg in the Trevi's Fountain

For some reason my eyes are always drawn to the chick. Lol Nice form. I'm not really feeling the backgrond as much, even though I like the texture. It just looks flat. I don't know if that is what you were going for, but maybe if the faces were going into the perspective of the river it would convey more of a distance she would have to travel. That way you wouldn't have to paint more water and keep that texture in the back.

By the way, what do the faces symbolize?

This woman is so real, I think that I can touch her! :) Also these faces are great but I don't think that they are flat.Behind the faces I can see some trees, am I right? Maybe a diffrent background would be better, I don't know, I like very much this woman and I believe that she deserves a beautiful place! :D Anyway, I love it!

this is wonderfull Eric . I see sea creatures and machine code, also trees and faces.I love the rich hues and the composition. Maybe we are in the womans mind, three versions of her personality or she is being judged ( by herself ). I'll have to ponder over this for some time.
Thank you for sharing this.

the girl is awesome.
i like the whole concept a lot, im not sure about the faces, maybe theres too many, one would do, or maybe its jsut just too obvious that they are there.
anyway, nice mixture
i like it a lot, the mood the colors.

eric, I love the concept in this piece, with the idea of facing the gods of the Underworld before judgement as one's soul is born into the land of mist and shadows. The texture and depth, with a kaleidoscope of underlying color-representation, is outstanding! This brings to mind your piece, 'necroscope', in that the textures, hues and style are analogous, showing your artistic originality interpretation.

This is very nice. Love what you've done to the background; if I look hard enough I can see more than one image...I also can't keep my eyes off the woman...
