View Full Version : Painter 7 Question (How to export movie to AVI?)

I just bought Painter 7, and I love it in comparison to Painter Classic. Lots of new tricks and toys to screw around with...

I've never really messed with the script function before, but I really like the animated time lapse it does when you record with it.

I've seen people, who use painter, have .gif animations, as well as quicktime and avi files... How would I export a script that I've already painted/recorded?

Thanks in advance.

Do you know if there is a demo available and from where? I have looked everywhere.

A demo of Painter?

I'm not too sure, but I believe Painter Classic is bundled with a lot of Wacom tablets. You can grab one for under $200. I recommend anything above 9x9, as anything less will have you zooming and moving all over the place, all the time because of the size of the tablet vs. the size of the image you're working on.

Thanks for the response. I am after a new tablet but still would like a demo of the full painter version.

I don't think there is a demo.

It uses layers like Photoshop, but most of your work should be done on one layer, if you're going to be working like an actual painter would.

The layers support different blending modes, like Photoshop, and it has a great mode called Gel, where you can basically blend the colors of layer 2 with everything below it, so it's like painting all on the same layer, except with the luxury of multiple layers in case you screw up and want to delete a layer.

It comes with hundreds of brushes, and you can download more brushes or create them yourself. (They're based on XML.)

It's got just about everything you'd need though, with a lot more. It's really nice.

I do use Photoshop extensivly. However I have not decided whether I want to update to PS7 or simply get Painter for my natural media. I have used painter 3 but it was a long time ago and it doesnt appear to work on XP.
