Hi,

it looks nice, but in my opinion the lghthouse in the distance should have more detail to match the foreground and the area where the water meets the shore gives away the bump map techniwue, because it's completely flat!

did you see my ocean shader experiments? if you didn't, do a search here or in postforum and tell me what you think.

Thats realy nice mate, it could use some fog or DOF to give it some depth. and bits of rubbish and wash up on the beach, papper bits floting in the wind.

Keep it up Mike.

Nice atmospheric feeling to this image. I agree that some enviro fog would add a lot. How about adding some ripples around the piers and boat with some Nickl deformers? Also, the scale of the structural members under the building looks too big to me.

Adam you should post your spline deformer example here as well, I thought it was absolutely brilliant still watching it, man so simple yet effective

I agree about the lighting but the fog should probably be done more through post production so you don't kill the contrast on the center of focus.

It looks like a POV rendering with the lighting scene that you have. I'd recommend some HDRI action! It works wonders for cloudy scenes!!

Thanks Kai! I was pretty pleased with it myself. I think I'll post it in a separate thread, 'cause it is something that comes up from time to time.

Thanks for all the comments.
This took me about 12 hours to do from scratch, so i guess it's not that bad.
:)

I'll improve it a.s.a.p.

Here's a "photoshoped" version:
