I have a character with fur that will require two UVsets :

A Fur UVset and a Color UVset

Right now my character has it's fur UVs layed out in the default UVset : map1

I want to be able to create a new empty UVset called "Color" and transfer the UVs I layed out for this color map from an identical model that i've imported into the scene.

Poly Transfer w\ "UVs" Checked will only transfer ALL UV sets from one model and write
over ALL UV sets on the destination model. I need to able to copy a particular set into an empty set of another model, while still retaining any sets the destination model may have had.

I came across this script (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/downloads/mel_scripts/polygon/857.html)when discovering this thread (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=386487).

It seems as if it would work, but it crashes due to "Free memory low" about half way through, every single time. Someone in the thread mentioned that turning off undo would fix this, however it continues to crash anyway. I have 2 gigs of ram and 2.5 gigs allocated to my virtual memory.

Are there any other methods?

Thanks,

Frank G

Just to let you know that Maya 8 can do that. They added a lot of options among which - Transfer Current and All. It overrides only UV sets with the same names all others are just added.
