okay... lets go so.....
Silmordos are a very ancient race of Valinor, made by Illuvatar himself for relaying spells and magic throught de world to the Valars. First they was living in valinor, near the valars. But Once Melko (also known as Morgoth, the lord of darkness who made the Balrogs and Sauron) went into the middle erath, some of them have followed, attracted by this Valar.
If the valar don't mind about them, because silmordos are not their creatures but their Lord's one (illuvatar made the valars), silmordo are attracted by each powerfull magical being.
So Each magical entitie has one, two or more silmordos who relay the magical field from illuvatar, who is out of the world.
A Valar for exemple, has about 10 silmordos relaying maigc for his power. A Character like Gandalf may have about 3 or 4 of them. And a Balrog may have some too (about 3 maybe).
Silmordos have no interests in the world (either middle earth or valar) but the interest of relaying magical fields.... They're neither good nor bad. They just protect their "magical territory" against intruders. They're very strong in closecombat, and stronger in power-magical combat... Probably very more powerfull than a Balrog, because they can disrupt any ennemy magical field ability.
They are very quiet, and never will attack any being if this being is not a danger for their magical territory.
