I just bought After Effects 7.0 and a Total Training DVD for the purpose of touching up (deleteing stuff) for a movie.
Let's say for an "ocean scene" I want to remove a boat scene in the background. Well in PhotoShop I would select an area of ocean with no boat and paste that over top of the boat that I want to remove, while feathering the edges and making slight color adjustments as needed. But in After Affects how would I do it?

From what I can gather you use either a mask or matte, feather it, place it over the boat, and motion track it to a null object as needed (if the camera or boat moves).

ANy help on this? The more details the better.

While not directly related check out the suicide tutorial,

www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html (http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials.html)

Although for ocean you man want to look into the clone tool but for static or mostly static things check it out.

Good Luck,
Andrew
