they both look very robotic...put some moving holds in there...

check out Keith Langos' tute here on non-linear animation:
http://www.keithlango.com

click on tutorials on the left side of the screen, then select the "Pose-to-pose" pop-thru article.

You need some sway in the arms on the baseball one. When he has both hands down with the ball, they stay in the same position as he moves the torso back...have them drag a bit (this is called overlappinpg action). Poses are pretty good. In the soldier one, the timing is too fast. The head jolt is about one frame to fast, and the arm/torso movements are way too fast, don't have arc in movement, and no overlapping action is involved between them.

However, you have an awesome start for just coming into this thing. Animation has a lot to it...I personally still have trouble with a lot even though I've been doing it for awhile.

Thank you for you comments and critics.

"they both look very robotic"

For the technique "to poses poses", I wanted to make tests animations right in keyframe "Straight Ahead". Best the solution for animation, so that I included/understood is to combine both. I will test ^^

For the animation of baseball, i' m 100% agree.
For the animation of the soldier, although it is far from being perfect, I liked enough the style! At least I wanted to give a style cartoon but I takes into account your experienced critics. It is true that there isn't a lot of rotation of the bust.
I fixed a given time of 4 and 6 hours... I did what I have can^^

Still thank you for your encouragements! that cheer me! :bounce:

here are a couple of quickies. the soldier one is nice, but needs work to be something great. Go through the animation and look for your main poses. make sure they are all balanced and look right. Then think, "How can I make this more dynamic and interesting"

Some things that can make it dynamic and interesting is to have contrasting lines of motion. I have illustrated a few ideas down below(they are pretty crude drawings :( )
