View Full Version : The Primitive Bunch: Episode 1
chepe297 01-23-2003, 02:54 AM Hi All
I've just finished this short animation (53 seconds). I recently decided to specialize in animation, so I think that I should start with the fundamentals such as animating a walk, ball bounce, etc. Hence this animation is produced. There are hardly any modeling, texturing or lighting in this animation, but purely animation. Hope you enjoy it. Comments and critics are always welcome.
best regards,
pete

Great work....its awesome man. I really do see few simple animations that are good.
Your animation is awesome, and funny too...haha..i like it when Reddy comes back for another one:applause:
i like the animation specially when reddy calls bluebox...and bluebox is like no....and also the part at the end when reddy falls again and bluebox shrugs....haha nice man! love it.

Great sense of gravity and weight.
not choppy or jerky in anyway :)

It's cute, and funny... and it works even without sound :)
I've one small critique: The forward movement of the box doesn't quite work. I think the head/top of the box needs to lean down more before it jumps... When we humans try to do a long hop from a standing position, we really swing our bodies back first to build up anough motion to leap forward... It just looks like the box propels itself without trying to build momentum first...
Otherwise, nice job. Keep it up! :D

Very cool. Not to be the jerk of the responses, but if you're going to specialize in animation, you should start workin with some rigging that is a little more complicated than a box and sphere perhaps. I definitely agree that what you have done is very well executed and good in its own right, but likely, an employer wouldn't care much for it when looking to hire you =P
I'tll be cool to see what you turn out once you get your handles on something more complicated. In the meantime, good work.

It would be better if there are textures, better light and of course sound.
But it's really cute.

aazimkhan - Thank-you very much for the compliment. I guess that I've done the basics well. Now I better move onto something more advanced.
caffeineman - Thanks for your time and feedback.
moovieboy - Thanks for the critique. I was going to have sound, but decided that I have spend enough time on this animation. I should get onto something else. I am glad that it worked well even without sound.
WhiteRabbit.obj - Thanks. Yeah, I know what you mean. I am just getting the basics right first and will get on something more complicated. I guess from all the feedbacks, I think I am ready to go onto something more advance.
Oktavian - Thanks for watching. I think as I animate more, the models will be more complex along with better texture as well as lighting. This animation is just a basic animation.
Rukuwa - Thanks Bro!
cuse - Thanks man! I am glad you enjoyed it.
Thank-you all for watching. Until next time... :D
