Cris Palomino's workshop, Brushwork with Painter - Under the Hood of the Painter Brush-Engine (http://www.cgworkshops.com/courses/000024) is open for enrollments. Registration closes 24th August 2006. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to be part of Cris Palomino's inspiring workshop!

In this workshop, Cris will draw on her extensive professional experience, which includes 13 years as an artist and manager of Character Art at the Disney Consumer Products division of The Walt Disney Studios. Cris' remarkable and in-depth understanding of Painter is put to good use in the demonstration of versatility and brilliance to create oil paintings, watercolors, pencil sketches, pastel drawings, poster serigraphs and much more. To participate in this workshop, students of all levels of ability are welcome to enrol.

Cris Palomino has been using Painter professionally since its Fractal Designer beginnings. She was instrumental in pioneering the use of digital art while working as an artist at Disney Consumer Products and began teaching their traditional artists how to traverse the daunting gap from the pencil to the digital pen in classes designed to reach the artist and not just teach another computer class. Go here to read more about Cris Palomino’s BIO. (http://workshops.cgsociety.org/instructors/Cris_Palomino/)

Hi, Leif.

Please feel free to post or email any questions. As with any class or workshop, there are things that I plan to teach, but my main interest is in making sure that participants get what they hope to get out of it.

The class will contain information for those who have very little or no experience with Painter, but I am prepared to work with any level. Painter is such a cool program and is a very different way of working if you are used to Photoshop. I use both programs most of the time.

The main thrust of this workshop is to tackle the brushes and the papers. Papers don't get as much attention, yet with so many of Painter's brushes that directly interact with your paper surface, I thought it would be great to not only show how to use the wonderful array that comes with Painter, but for students to create their own unique surfaces. The same thought is behind the brushes and you'll see how addictive it can be to play with the brushes and create just the looks you are after.

Thanks for your interest.

I am a bit confused.

Is this an online class as well? Obviously being there is preferred, but how much more so ('cuz I aint gonna be there...)?

Please post a description specific to the on line student.

Thank you.

Hi, Stankluv.

Actually, all the CGS Workshops are online and the curriculum is geared and laid out for the student to be able to read the lesson, do their work and present it online (WIP through completion) to the instructor and fellow students for comment and critique.

Instructors are all over the planet as are the students. That's one of the great things about these courses. It's a very sound way to teach and learn for a global community.

If you have specific questions or concerns, please feel free to post or email me. I'll be happy to answer you.

Cris
