View Full Version : Character: HiRes 3D Human anatomy
Well, lets try this again. I decided to just go with a simple clean front and rear view. Let me know what you think?

Pretty Impressive. The fingers look a little short though. Is this a functional muscular understructure or just a model of the muscles? And how was it modeled?
WhiteRabbit.obj.....It has a fully functional skeleton, and is roughly 90% rigged. The muscles, ligaments, bursa, aponeurosis, nerves are all independent models(appox 4000 in total) which are linked/rigged to the skeleton and each has their own softbody envelope.
As for the model make-up(modeling techniques used), I would say 10% is nurb, 60% is spline, and 30% is poly.
...here is an example of the skeleton underneath the body.
The spine
(its the only hi res bone structure that has been released).

Very cool. I hope to get into muscle and physical skeleton rigging some time soon myself.

very good dear cds
whats your software ?
and please tell me whats your modeling tevcknique ?
Thank you all for your comments.....it's very much appreciated.
cuse........I am currently also a professional muscle therapist, and teach adv tech in TP and bio-mechanics. I also used roughly 6 other textbooks, and had ref help from a doctor at Standford, local doctors, and other anatomy professionals/professors, which includes the Gross Lab at the UofC.) There were 4 complete revisions mostly motivated by crits from Stanford.
As for the model make-up(modeling techniques used), I would say 10% is nurb, 60% is spline, and 30% is poly......and hundreds of hours in trial and error.
claudio.rizzi......Time spent: 3yrs appox 5000hours
saturen3....
Created with:Started with 3D Studio Max 3, then finished with 4.2
Mapped and Textured with: Deep 3D paint
Render: Mental Ray(it had no problem with the 2gig texture load)
Poly count: 1.5 million with over 4000 independently modeled objects.
Use: Textbooks, live footage compositing and software- the entire model is fully rigged(will be soon, only 10% and tweaking left) for Human biomechanical ROM.

Damm that is insane! Can we get some closeups?
Lukashi.....yup I felt like I was going insane from time to time, last year alone I put 3000 hours into it. I only took 14 days off total the whole year to get this thing done.
As for the close-ups, In a week or so, we will be releasing some more pr shots that will be high res blowups of the head, arm/shoulder, hip/leg, full torso and some detailed muscle layers of the spine. I will post them in this thread when the clients give me the go-ahead to publish them.
Thanks again, to all the members who commented.

I can hardly express my respect for the commitment you had to this project. Though many may say it is very small scale, I can tell from your position that the details are relativley important. You have one thing that I do not: Patience. Congrats on a project almost done! I hope you are proud!

Captain.....what can I say. Thanks for that very nice sentiment. Its been a very long road. One I wouldnt have been able to travel without my family and friends.

like white rabbit mentioned I believe that the fingers are to short. I also believe that the shoulder width and chest size are not proportional... but that is my opinion <<im no doctor>>

are you doctor?:p
His torso looks too long, i would like to see it shorter, i think i would look more proportional.
Thanks everyone for your feedback. Ill post this project next when some of the close-ups are released.
Thanks again!

If you offered that for download, you'd suddenly become the most popular guy on the VFX Challenge forum...:D
:applause:
ROFLMAO@Rudity.....that's comming in the next revision. Thanks...you have some great stuff yourself.
CourtJester.....yup, you could do some pretty wild compositing effects with this model, considering I also have raw footage of the person who matches this model(you'd be able to pull off a nice Hollowman effect).
