hi

i've just recently started 3d and continue to do it on my own, i have a question, i want to render a whole image, but theres this blue line that cuts across in cinema, and it sets out that area when i render, any advice.
i posted an example

right now, i just messed around with the lighting and did some tutorials on the maxon webpage. I am still learning the basics and concepts. I also want to create like a open window, any advice? thanks

I think you're talking about the render area lines that show up in the viewport. These are affected by the image size in the render settings-->output dialogue. The lines act like a viefinder showing what will appear in the render. Changing the aspect ratio of the output image will also change the relationship of those lines. If the aspect ratio is okay, you can of course zoom or dolly the camera in/out to better frame your scene.

hey all

yea, im talking about the blue line in the viewport, i posted an example.

yea i will take that into account with my work, but if i change the ratio of the render, then it will be unporptional and distorted, am i right?

I've worked with 3ds max a little bit and I notice that you can change the environment, like adding solid colors, maps, and etc.
doing this completely changes the background of the image, i was wondering if i was able to the same in cinema, im looking for a way render the background with a solid color or fade it away, well thats my problem. thanks

use an environment object with fog on to create distance fog. or use a sky object and put at exutre on it to make a backdrop, ther'es also teh background object which projects an image flat on teh background, useful for compositing.

the viewport will only distort if you change the pixel aspect ratio, just changing teh shape/size f the render wont distort the image, only it might scale it a bit. your best bet is to try these things out and find out :)
