Hi, I'm making an architecture viz in Max8, to show at a job opportunity next week, so I hope I can get some fast help here..

I've made a room with a lot of long, square boxes as lightsources with Adv. Lighting Override materials. Problem is that they dont give off enough, or any, shadow. The problem area is a table with chairs. It looks as if the chairs have some shadow from the table, but the floor doesn't get any shadows. Result: hovering chairs.

If someone can help me with this, alternatively with lighttracing or show me how to get the same effect with Mentalray?

Thx in advance.

The answer is , of course, to increase polys on the floor, and put adaptive undersampling back on. Stupid.

I'm still interested in knowing how to achieve the same effect with lighttracing thou, and especially, how to do the same in MentalRay, as I havent worked with that before I got Max8 some time ago..

What is adaptive undersampling? How do I put it on?
