I have a very strange problem. I'm getting what looks like a huge shadow casting over my models, but it's not a shadow as i turned off all shadows. I have no idea where it's coming from. I've checked all the objects and don't see anything out of place. Has anyone encountered anything similar to this?

Its probably just an eclipse of the sun.

It happens sometimes. In the olden days they thought it was a message from god, but it was just Maya. Hah!

Actually i reimported the meshes and it seems to be fine now. I didn't even think to take a screenshot since everything seemed ok. If it happens while i'm at work tomorrow i'll remember to save the image.

Yup. Sounds like your surface normals were screwed up. If it happens again, just click on "Set to Face" and then soften all the normals by 90%. That usually fixes it.
